Everything you need to know about Tim Horton’s Penrith
Tim Horton’s is a Canadian classic, founded in 1964, and over 50 years later, it’s finally made it to Cumbria! You’ll likely pass the Tim Horton’s Penrith store on your way into North Lakes, so here is everything you need to know about the latest addition to Penrith.
It’s unusual for something so big and iconic to get open this close to home, with rumours of the opening spreading for nearly a year! Having never been to Timmies before, I didn’t really know what to expect – in my mind it was Canada’s version of McDonalds – but it’s safe to say I’m a convert!

What to expect from Tim Horton’s Penrith
Tim Horton’s (or Timmies as the regulars call it) is known for its doughnuts, but my GOD it is so much more than doughnuts and coffee.

I was blown away by the choices available for savoury food.
Chicken burgers, wraps, hot dogs and toasties in a wide variety of flavours. I opted for the Tim’s Crispy Chicken Stack which was burger bun, crispy chicken breast, hash brown, bacon and cheese and wow, this is FILLED with flavour (not what you usually say about fast food!)
Everything is made fresh to order, and it was tasty, flavoursome and not dry at all. With it came waffle fries (so much better than chips!) and a dipping sauce of your choice.
I was super excited to also see they had vegan options, including a completely dairy free Coconut Ice Capp – a frozen blended coffee drink made with coconut milk which is delicious. It’s so nice to have a completely dairy free coffee option like that on a fast food menu!

It’s safe to say that Tim Horton’s Penrith is Postcards From Approved ✅
The fresh, minimalistic seating area still has a cosy feeling – with soft, warm lighting – feels like a cosy coffee shop you’d catch up with friends in.
With reliable wifi, and plugs around the seating area, it’s also a great place to touch down and do some work, and have a coffee pick me up on your way as well.
I can’t wait to head back here and try more of the menu!
