5 places to go for brunch in Manchester

Brunch is my favourite meal of the day. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love breakfast food without having to get up at the crack of dawn to actually eat it! I used to live in Manchester, and I’ve had a lot of brunches in the city, which is why I wanted to share with you some of the best places to go for brunch in Manchester.

There are some amazing restaurants and cafes in Manchester, offering so many different options for brunch. Whether you’re planning a weekend away in Manchester, or you live there, here are some firm favourites.

Albert Schloss | Brunch in Manchester

The best places to have brunch in Manchester

Albert Schloss

Whilst Albert Schloss is known for being a cool and laid-back place to go for drinks and a night out, it’s also an amazing place to go for the food! If you can get yourself out of bed before 11.30 am, make a beeline for here because you will not be disappointed.

My absolute favourite is the breakfast bagel which is; bratwurst patty, sunnyside egg, smoked bacon, cheddar, red chilli jam however I really need to go again soon so I can have their veggie breakfast which sounds AMAZING.

Not only are their breakfast choices A+, but they also have freshly baked bread and pastries, gorgeous coffee (which comes with a little ginger biscuit) and a fab juice selection.

Leaf on Portland Street

Leaf is a firm favourite with me and a few of my besties; when we all lived in Manchester this was our go-to meet up place whether it was for a catch up and work date over lunch or a cheeky breakfast before our waitressing shifts.

Leaf’s tea selection is second to none (also their coffees are super tasty too) and they have a really big brunch menu (which caters for meat-eaters, veggies and vegans – between me and my friends we’ve had all three and they’re all gorgeous and very filling). They also have smaller brunch options, including my fave poached eggs on toast with crispy kale!

I love the chilled fairy light vibe of leaf and I’m forever having to use shazam to see what music they’re playing.

Teacup Kitchen

Full English | brunch in Manchester

I’m a bit wary to put teacup kitchen on my list and here’s why; whilst the food is really good and the place is very Instagram worthy, the last two times I went the service was really slow and not as good as it used to be.

However, regardless of how slow the service is, the food is still fab and as long as I’m not in a hurry, I’ll still go here.

I normally opt for your full English which is HUGE! It’s definitely one which will set you up for the day.

Gorilla

For three years, I lived no more than 5 minutes away from Gorilla and it’s safe to say I’ve had a lot of brunches here. Whenever my mum would come to see me, we would always go here!

They have a great selection of smoothies (my fave being the orange and mango one) and a great selection of brunch food too. I normally opt for eggs Benedict with my smoothie and my mum often goes for the full English – both of which are good!

It’s the atmosphere which I love most about Gorilla; from its music to its overall vibe especially if you go to a disco brunch which has a DJ and is basically a big brunch party!

Alabama’s All American Eatery

I’ve only been to Alabama’s once and it was amazing! It’s somewhere I definitely want to visit again because the pancakes I had last time were huge and up there with some of the best pancakes I’ve had.

It has some great music, a very punny menu and has a very American vibe about it which is really fun.

I’ll be honest, choosing just five brunch spots was very hard, so let me know if you want a part 2!
