Where to eat in Keswick, Cumbria
Keswick is a popular place to base yourself for your Lake District trip, but it’s also a fantastic foodie place too. Whether you’re looking for breakfast, to set you up for a day of walking, a tasty lunch, or an evening of good food; the options are endless. I wanted to share some of my favourite places with you, to help you choose where to eat in Keswick on your next trip.
Breakfast & Brunch
The most important meal of the day! If you’re looking where to eat in Keswick, and looking for a good brunch spot, hopefully, these will help you decide!
Lake Road Brunch, Keswick
Lake Road Brunch is a new brunch place on Lake Road that you need to visit when you’re in Keswick. It has all of your classic brunch dishes; avo on toast, Shakshuka, full english, eggs benny. But they also have the naughtiest pancake menu with the most decadent toppings! They also have a full vegan menu, so everyone can enjoy the meal.

Lingholm Kitchen
The gardens at Lingholm Kitchen are beautiful. The cafe sits within the walled garden and has cinematic views of Skiddaw. The brunch menu is small, but delicious, including Kedgeree, avo on toast and cornbread. They also have a delicious lunch menu and afternoon tea.

Where to eat Lunch in Keswick

Merienda’s
Merienda’s in open for breakfast, brunch, lunch & dinner, but I always seem to end up there at lunchtime. Their sandwiches are full of flavour, and their brunch options are delicious. The Ruben & the Grilled Cheese are my two favourites – it’s simple comfort food, done really well. Their dinner menu looks delicious, and I’ll definitely be heading back!

The Round
The Round is the sister restaurant to The Fellpack, with delicious burgers. They have really good veggie and vegan options, and everything is just a bit different. I can really recommend the Katsu Bells! This is the perfect spot to go after a day walking in The Lakes and it really celebrates local produce

The Kingfisher
If you’re looking for fish and chips, The Kingfisher is the place to go. I often went here with my Grandad, and it’s somewhere where you can get proper, classic, fish and chips with a cup of tea.
📍 77 Main St, Keswick CA12 5DS
Cake, Ice Cream & Sweet Treats
Let’s be honest, I can’t do a where to eat in the Keswick guide without mentioning cake and ice cream! I’m a sweet tooth person, and there are so many cake places.
Jasper’s Coffee House
Jasper’s is one of the most dog-friendly places, with the most amazing cakes too. The cakes are huge and the ginger cake is delicious. They have nice strong coffee, from a local roastery, and plant-based milks! The best thing, though, is just how dog friendly they are – and how welcome your four-legged friends are (Arthur loves it here!)

Casa Bella Gelato
One of my favourite ice cream spots is Casa Bella Gelato. They have fun flavours, big portions and, most importantly, it tastes brilliant! My two favourites are mint choc chip & smarties (honestly, their smarties ice cream is the best. It tastes better than the official smarties one!)

Where to eat dinner

Casa Bella
Casa Bella, the main restaurant which owns Casa Bella Gelato, is somewhere I’ve been going to since I was little. They’re a family-run Italian restaurant with delicious pizza and pasta. My go-to order is the antipasti sharing starter, chorizo risotto and then ice cream! If you’re looking for a delicious Italian meal, then head to Casa Bella!

The Square Orange
One of my favourite places to go for lunch & dinner in Keswick is The Square Orange. It’s this tiny tapas bar, which is full of colour and life, and the food is delicious. Tapas and pizzas are what they’re known for, and if you’re lucky enough to grab a table, you won’t be disappointed!
📍20 St John’s St, Keswick CA12 5AS | www.thesquareorange.co.uk
Fellpack
Fellpack is the sister restaurant to The Round and offers innovative twists and fresh takes on classic dishes are served at our warm and friendly bistro. It’s such a vibrant and fun place, and the food is delicious and full of flavour. They have a great selection of vegan and veggie dishes, and the desserts are amazing!
📍34 Lake Rd, Keswick CA12 5DQ | www.fellpack.co.uk/fellpack-restaurant
The Royal Oak, Keswick
The Royal Oak is a pub situated in the very centre of Keswick, but the food is much more than simple pub grub! They have some really lovely fish dishes and the menu has something for everyone and I can highly recommend the fish pie!

Keswick is full of amazing foodie places, and I really recommend having a foodie day out. I’ll be updating this page as I try more places, and as more places open. What a helpful post! I’ve been to The Lake District and Cumbria once and I absolutely LOVED it. It was so beautiful and the nicest little holiday. I’d love to go back and explore some more – we didn’t really eat out much whilst we were there so I’d definitely like to try some of these places! x
I’m so glad you like the post! It’s so beautiful here isn’t it – hopefully you come back soon! If you try any of the places, let me know what you think 🙂 x
