There’s a real sense of magic in the air as November rolls around. Stargazing in Keswick
On Friday 8th November, Cockermouth Astronomical Society is hosting a stargazing event in Keswick. Using their telescopes (or bring your own!) and explore the skies above Derwentwater
Winter Market at Holker Hall
From the 1 – 3 November, Holker Hall are holding their annual Christmas Market. Experience live music, amazing food and drink, and over 100 stalls full to bursting with crafts, textiles, gifts, experiences and much, much more – a truly warming winter day out.

Earlybird Dawn Cruise on Ullswater
Capture the dawn and Autumn colours through the lens on board a 2/3-hour cruise. This is a unique and very special memory making experience for early bird enthusiasts plus it’s a great opportunity to meet local photographers, share ideas and the LOVE of all things Ullswater of course.
The cruise includes tea/coffee and croissant on board.

Forest Run & Yoga
Be part of the Cumbria Dark Skies Festival and Join JAG Outdoors for an evening of adventure, exercise, focus, fun, and wellbeing at Whinlatter.
Starting with a run, followed by an hour of yoga in the yurt, and finish with a short shivasna (relaxation) and a non caffeinated drink. The run will be suitable for anyone who can complete a 5km run/jog/walking in around 50 mins. Stronger runners will have options to go further with loops and run backs.

Santa’s Secret Grotto at Honister Slate Mine
If you’re looking for one of the most unique Santa’s Grotto’s, then make sure you head to Honister Slate Mine!
Your adventure begins with a scenic mountain ascent, guided by Santa’s mischievous elf, Holly Sparklefoot. She’ll lead you through secret mine passages known only to the elves, where you’ll spot mystical creatures and discover Santa’s underground winter wonderland, complete with twinkling lights and toy-making elves hard at work. Finally, you’ll meet Santa himself in his hidden grotto, where each child will receive a special gift.

Go and see The Jungle Book at Theatre by the Lake
This years Christmas production at Theatre by the Lake is The Jungle Book!
Based on the adored children’s classic by Rudyard Kipling, Theatre by the Lake is excited to present Jessica Swale’s acclaimed stage adaptation of The Jungle Book. Featuring loveable characters, catchy songs and charming puppetry, this playful tale of adventure, friendship and belonging is the perfect treat for all the family this Christmas.
Bowness Bay Brewing Christmas Markets
Bowness Bay Brewing are hosting their first ever Christmas Markets on the 16th and 17th November! Explore a wonderful selection of stalls offering delicious baked treats, stunning jewellery, and unique handmade crafts – ideal for holiday gifts or a little something for yourself!
There’s going to be live music, Traditional Bratwurst barbeque by the Big Bear’s BBQ Pizza & Grill and Mulled wine, mulled cider, coffee, lattes, tea and more.
It’s free all weekend and family and dog friendly.
Kendal Mountain Festival
The highly-anticipated celebration of adventure, culture, nature and exploration, is taking place between 21st and 24th November.
During the four-day Festival, over 200 live sessions including 300+ speakers, 180+ films, and 80+ activities will be programmed engaging over 30,000 adventure-seekers and outdoor enthusiasts.

The Ulverston Dickensian Festival
Step back in time at Ulverston’s Dickensian Festival, a popular event in the Cumbrian calendar as the town takes a step into the past and celebrates seasonal life as it would have been in Dickensian times. There will be stalls, crafts, fancy dress and free live entertainment.
This is a really unique event and a lot of fun!
