5 micro adventure ideas for January

After the sparkle and magic of Christmas, January can feel dull and dark in comparison. But this is where the magic of micro-adventures comes in!

Microadventures are small adventures which are free/affordable, and bring a bit of fun into your life. After having a micro-adventure every week last year (and doing the same this year!), I can confirm that a little adventure can bring joy to your life, even when things are feeling v stressful.

So, to help you beat the January Blues, here are 5 microadventures for you to try in January…

1. a winter walk with a hot chocolate

Bundle up and explore a nearby walk or park. Dont forget to pack your flask of hot chocolate, some snacks, and enjoy a cozy picnic in the winter wonderland.

I can fully recommend the Stanley flasks – they come with a lifetime guarantee and keep your coffee hot for over 24 hours!

2. a cooking class with seasonal ingredients

Experiment with winter ingredients in the kitchen. Try your hand at making hearty soups, stews, or winter desserts. Bonus points for using seasonal produce.

If you’re looking to save money, why not get some friends around and cook together at home and catch up over delicious food!

3. visit a local museum or art gallery

Escape the cold weather and go inside and explore a local art gallery or museum.

Many gallery’s and museums have free entry, or discounted entry for locals, as well as having different events on as well. They’re always changing so it’s different every time you go!

4. winter farmers market

Explore a local winter farmers’ market to discover seasonal produce, artisanal goods, and unique treats. It’s a great way to support local businesses.

5. a winter beach day

Normally you think of going to the beach in the summer, but there’s something special about a costal walk in winter! Bonus points if you brave a sea swim.
