Cumbria is home to many creative people and businesses, including jewellery makers, designers, and textile makers. This Christmas gift guide is filled with locally made products and Cumbrian designers, and I am so excited to share these brands because they are so beautiful and fun!
Yam Knitwear

Yam Knitwear has been created by my talented friend, Emily, who creates beautiful handmade knitted hats, scarfs, shawls, and more.
Not only are they beautiful, but they’re also sustainably made too. I bought one of the hats from last year’s winter collection and proceeded to wear it the whole of winter (and it’s come back out this week as the weather turns colder!).

Dotting the I’s

Every single piece of Dotting the i’s jewellery is designed and handcrafted completely by me by using traditional silversmithing techniques using a hammer, saw, torch, and loads of sandpaper.
Simple elegance, with Scandinavian style, is at the heart of Katijaan’s brand, and each piece is so beautiful.

Wool Clip

Woolclip is a cooperative of 11 spinners, dyers, rug makers, knitters, crocheters, weavers and felt makers, as well as designers and farmers. Based in Caldbeck, Cumbria, Woolclip was founded in 2001, and they have a beautiful shop and cafe which I thoroughly recommend.
You can also buy online, including these beautiful jumpers. You can also get yarn, kits, and lots of other wool goodies.

Mere Glass Jewellery

Mere Glass create stunning jewellery, in the most beautiful colours. This blue really stood out to me, and is actually one of my favourite colours!
Based just outside of The Lake District, Mere Glass Jewellery starts life as sheets of art glass. It is a lengthy process, however the attention to detail and design make every piece genuinely unique.

They look so cosy don’t they, I so want a pair!!
I usually go for the accessories and jewellery route, over clothing as it can be so difficult to find pieces that you know the other person will like x
So true, plus I always think jewellery is such a perfect gift!
I love what you’ve selected here. The jewellery in particular is amazing! The pop of blue is just gorgeous!
