A big Adventure-ful Year – a 2026 Adventure challenge
Every year, I spend the last week of it cosied up in a cottage on the Isle of Mull, and it’s the exact reset I need. One thing that had been ruminating for a few months was having a challenge/goal for the year. Then it came to me, as the snow fell on the sea – I wanted 2026 to be A Big Adventure-ful year.
The goal
To have an adventure every week in 2026.
It doesn’t matter how big or small, but something that breaks the weekly routine. So by the time December 2026 rolls around, I’ll have another 52 adventures under my belt, new experience, new memories with friends new and old.
The Why
I did a similar challenge in 2023, and it changed my life.
When I took control of my life and started prioritising having weekly adventures, not only did I start really living life, I gained confidence, met new people, and just had a blast.
And that’s what I want 2026 to feel like as well. So it made sense to me that if I wanted the year to feel adventureful, I needed to make it a front and centre priority.
The How
Basically once a week I’ll go on an adventure. As simple as that.
Whether it’s swimming, a walk, visiting somewhere new, a train journey…the list goes on. Some weeks they’ll be big, other weeks they’ll be the micro-ist of microadventure. Because that’s the beauty of living a big adventure-ful life…it can be exactly what you want it to be.
I’ll be sharing the weekly micoradventures on here and on substack – and you can bookmark this post as I’ll be updating it monthly with all of the mciroadventures. And if you want to join along on this challenge, make sure to follow on substack and I’ll be creating a chat on there, and you can share on instagram using #abigadventurefulyear
So, here’s to a year filled with adventures!
